In support of your application make sure that you have read your local police forces web site and you know their mission statement and ethos. Remember to search your cupboards, drawers or even loft for the important documents you will need for your application. Items such as your passport, driving licence, examination certificates etc. will be needed for your application.

Details about the cadet scheme (at the bottom of the web page) for young people aged 16-18 who want to become police officers and can’t apply until over 18. This scheme gives a good a taste of what it’s like to be a police officer. One former cadet has become a Chief Constable.
